A cyclist was taken to hospital after a crash with a BC Transit bus in Langford on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. on August 11 on Jacklin Road, near the 2800 block. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to provide medical care.

Paramedics from BC Emergency Health Services treated the cyclist on site. The patient was then taken to the hospital in stable condition. Brian Twaites, a paramedic spokesperson, confirmed that both primary and advanced care paramedics attended the scene.

West Shore RCMP’s Traffic Unit and frontline officers reached the site just minutes after the collision was reported at 3:59 p.m. The police are currently investigating the crash and have not released further details.

BC Transit emphasized that passenger and public safety remains its top concern. The transit agency said it will carry out a thorough internal review, as it does with every incident involving its vehicles.

The transit service also extended its thoughts to the cyclist, bus driver, passengers, and all others affected by the accident.
