Authorities say the 31-year-old man was rushed to hospital following the incident early on August 2. Police responded quickly after receiving a report about the case.

The Campbell River RCMP are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident. They believe it took place between JJ’s Campbell River on Cedar Street and the 900-block of 12th Avenue. The timeframe is estimated between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.

Constable Maury Tyre urged anyone with knowledge or video evidence of the event to contact police.

Officials have not released additional details about the nature of the altercation or any suspects involved. Police are focused on gathering more information to support their investigation.

Residents and visitors in the downtown area during the early hours of August 2 are asked to check for security camera footage or any observations that could help the investigation.

Authorities remind the public that even small pieces of information can be important. Any video from nearby businesses, homes, or dashcams may provide key details about the incident.

The RCMP emphasized the seriousness of the injuries, describing them as life-threatening. They are urging anyone who was in the area or has information to come forward immediately.

Campbell River police continue to patrol the downtown core while investigating the case. They are committed to ensuring public safety and finding those responsible.

The investigation remains active, and officers are reviewing all available evidence. Anyone with information is asked to call the Campbell River RCMP or submit tips online.

Police say timely information from the community can make a difference in solving serious crimes. The department is relying on public cooperation to piece together the events of the early morning altercation.

The RCMP have not identified any suspects or released further details on the man’s condition, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Residents with surveillance cameras near Cedar Street or 12th Avenue are encouraged to review recordings from the night of August 2. Police stress that all tips are valuable and confidential.
