Mission Fire Rescue Service hosted its annual Fire and Life Safety Fair at Fraser River Heritage Park on Sunday, October 5. The event drew a large crowd who enjoyed interactive displays and family-friendly activities.

This year’s fair focused on the safe use of lithium-ion batteries in homes. Visitors learned important safety tips and prevention measures through hands-on demonstrations.

Local organizations joined the event, including Mission Forestry, BC Emergency Health Services, Firesmart, and Emergency Support Services. They provided guidance, demonstrations, and resources to help residents stay safe at home.

Children and adults alike participated in the interactive exhibits, which included fire safety demonstrations, emergency preparedness tips, and engaging activities designed to educate while entertaining.

Mission Fire Rescue emphasized the importance of public education in preventing accidents related to household hazards like lithium-ion batteries. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and receive practical advice from safety experts.

Organizers said the fair aims to strengthen community awareness and promote safe habits that can protect families and property.

The event also offered demonstrations on fire prevention techniques, emergency response strategies, and ways to reduce risks in both homes and the wider community.

Visitors praised the fair for being both informative and fun. Many appreciated the chance to learn life-saving skills in a hands-on, interactive setting.

Mission Fire Rescue Service thanked all participating organizations and community members who attended. They highlighted that community involvement is key to making safety education effective.

Residents were encouraged to apply the safety tips at home and to share the knowledge with friends and neighbors to help prevent accidents and injuries.

The fair highlighted the ongoing commitment of Mission Fire Rescue Service to educate and protect the community through engaging, practical events like this annual gathering.
