Emergency services were called to a crash near Leigh Road and the Trans-Canada Highway in Langford on Saturday afternoon. The incident, reported around 1:30 p.m., led to a rapid response from paramedics and resulted in one person being taken to the hospital.

BC Emergency Health Services received the call reporting a motor vehicle incident in the area of Leigh Road and Highway 1. The location is a busy junction in Langford and often experiences high traffic volumes, particularly during weekends.

Two ambulances were sent to the scene. One unit had advanced care paramedics onboard, and the second was staffed with primary care paramedics. Emergency teams worked efficiently at the site to assess the situation and provide medical support.

According to officials, paramedics treated one individual at the scene before transporting them to the hospital. The patient was reported to be in stable condition upon arrival. No further information about the nature of the injuries or the number of vehicles involved was shared.

Christina Grave, a spokesperson for the Provincial Health Services Authority, confirmed the details in a written statement. She noted that emergency responders acted quickly to deliver care and ensure the injured person received the needed medical support.

The cause of the crash is not yet known, and there has been no official update on whether local police or highway patrol are investigating. Traffic flow in the area may have been temporarily affected, although no major delays were reported.

This stretch of Highway 1 is a key route for commuters and travelers heading through or past Langford. In recent years, the area near Leigh Road has seen more development and roadwork, which has led to increased traffic concerns.

Incidents like these highlight the importance of safe driving, especially near busy intersections and highway off-ramps. Authorities continue to remind drivers to stay alert, follow posted speed limits, and be cautious when merging or turning in high-traffic zones.

Langford has experienced a steady rise in traffic-related emergencies over the past year. Emergency services and local health officials have been working closely to reduce response times and improve safety for all road users. Advanced care paramedics play a vital role in such emergencies by offering more specialized treatment at the scene.

While Saturday’s crash did not result in life-threatening injuries, it serves as another reminder of the unpredictable nature of road travel. It also underscores the essential work carried out daily by first responders across the region.

Residents and travelers are encouraged to use real-time traffic updates and road condition apps when driving near key intersections such as Leigh Road and Highway 1. Staying informed can help avoid delays and lower the risk of collisions.

Authorities have not released any names or further personal information about the individual involved, in accordance with privacy guidelines.

Emergency services remain committed to public safety and continue to advise all drivers to remain patient and cautious, especially during peak traffic hours.

As of now, no additional details about the incident have been released. Updates will follow if more information becomes available from local or provincial agencies.
