Whistler Blackcomb is introducing new parking options for the upcoming 2025-26 winter season. The changes follow a successful trial of a carpool program last year and are aimed at making arrivals smoother and more flexible for guests.

The resort operator announced the updates in a press release on July 30. The improvements will affect parking from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on weekends, holiday Mondays, and during the peak festive period from December 27 to 31, 2025.

The new plan will include both reservation-based carpool parking and general parking in select resort-operated lots. These options are in addition to the existing first-come, first-served parking. There will also continue to be designated drop-off spaces for families participating in the Whistler Kids Snow School.

Importantly, all parking in the resort-owned lots will remain free.

These updates apply only to lots operated by the resort. Parking areas managed by the Resort Municipality of Whistler, such as skier day lots 1 to 5, are not affected by this announcement.

The goal of these changes is to offer more flexible and sustainable travel options for visitors. By improving how guests arrive and park, the resort hopes to reduce traffic congestion and enhance the overall guest experience.

According to the resort’s Chief Operating Officer, Belinda Trembath, the move is part of a broader effort to improve guest satisfaction and respond to community feedback.

“Our teams are always looking for ways to improve our services,” said Trembath. “This winter, we’re introducing new carpool and general parking options that are free to use. These updates help us reduce traffic while giving guests more choices.”

She added that the resort remains focused on working with the local community and resort partners. The aim is to create a better arrival and parking experience through teamwork, innovation, and clear communication.

The carpool program tested last season received positive feedback, and that success encouraged the team to expand it. The new system builds on what worked well during the trial while introducing more structured and predictable parking for guests.

Visitors will now be able to reserve carpool spaces ahead of time in certain lots, making planning a day on the mountain easier. The general parking option is also getting a boost, with more spaces being made available during the high-demand morning hours.

While many popular mountain resorts charge for prime parking, Whistler Blackcomb has kept its lots free. This decision supports the resort’s goals of accessibility and sustainability, encouraging more people to visit without adding costs.

Parking and road congestion have long been top concerns in Whistler, especially during busy weekends and holidays. By improving how guests arrive at the resort, Whistler Blackcomb hopes to ease these challenges and make the mountain experience better for everyone.

The expanded parking plan is just one part of a larger effort to improve the resort as a whole. In recent years, Whistler Blackcomb has introduced a range of new services and upgrades aimed at enhancing visitor experience while staying true to environmental goals.

These efforts include investing in snow school programs, expanding lift capacity, and encouraging more eco-friendly travel. The resort has also worked with local partners to make sure improvements benefit both tourists and the community.

With the 2025-26 season approaching, these new parking options are set to make early morning arrivals easier and more organized. Visitors planning winter trips can expect a smoother experience as they head to the slopes.

Whistler Blackcomb encourages guests to stay updated by checking its website for future announcements and reservation details. As always, planning ahead is recommended to get the best out of the winter season.

By focusing on free, flexible, and sustainable parking options, Whistler Blackcomb is continuing its commitment to a better and more enjoyable mountain experience for all.
