A B.C. hunter was airlifted to Kelowna hospital after being attacked by a grizzly bear near Fort St. James, officials said. The incident occurred on September 29 when a hunter encountered a grizzly sow protecting its cub. The bear charged and bit the hunter on the ankle. The Daves Creek wildfire near Kelowna is now under control, officials confirm. The fire grew to 2.53 hectares before being contained after quick firefighting efforts.
