Mounties in Burnaby, British Columbia, are asking for help locating 11-year-old Kai Pavlovic, who they believe may be staying with a caretaker unknown to authorities. The RCMP released photos of Pavlovic on Wednesday night and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Pavlovic is described as five feet tall, thin, with brown hair. Police said they received a request for a well-being check for him on September 26. Investigators have spoken to his family and believe he may be with a caretaker, but efforts to confirm his location have so far been unsuccessful.

Authorities have not disclosed when Pavlovic was last seen or the area of Burnaby where he lives. Cpl. Laura Hirst said the initial goal was to alert the public and share the boy’s photo. The case does not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert, which is issued in cases of abduction or imminent danger to a child.

Anyone with information about Kai Pavlovic’s whereabouts is asked to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
