Jessica Lowndes has signed a new multi-picture deal with GAC Family. Under this agreement, she will star in, write, direct, and executive produce several original films for the network. This deal marks an exciting expansion of her creative work in the entertainment industry.
The news came shortly after the premiere of Harmony From The Heart, a film Lowndes starred in alongside Jesse Metcalfe. She also wrote the screenplay and served as executive producer for the movie. This project highlights her growing role behind the camera as well as on-screen.
Lowndes joins a growing list of former Hallmark Channel stars who have signed deals with GAC Family. The network is led by Bill Abbott, the former CEO of Crown Media Family Networks, which owns Hallmark Channel. Abbott has brought several Hallmark favorites to GAC Family, including Jen Lilley, Danica McKellar, and Trevor Donovan, all of whom have multi-picture deals.
In addition, When Calls the Heart stars Lori Loughlin and Daniel Lissing have reunited for the spinoff When Hope Calls, which also airs on GAC Family.
Harmony From The Heart is Lowndes’ sixth film as an executive producer and her second as a screenwriter. She also contributed to the movie’s soundtrack by writing and producing original songs. One of these tracks, “11:11,” was created in collaboration with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Zyra and producers Aaron Edwards and Corey Walles. Edwards and Walles also produced most of the film’s music.
Lowndes’ first work with GAC Family was as executive producer and star of Autumn Romance. This film was the first original movie to air on the network. She also recently executive produced and starred in Angel Falls Christmas, which premiered on GAC Family in November 2021.
Lowndes has a strong background with TV movies, especially with Lifetime and Hallmark. In 2015, she starred with Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig in Lifetime’s A Deadly Adoption. Since then, she has appeared in over ten films on these networks. Many of these projects feature original songs that she wrote and performed.
For example, she wrote the screenplay for Over the Moon in Love and co-wrote the hit song “Paradise,” which reached number one on iTunes’ Singer/Songwriter charts. She also starred in the 2021 Hallmark movie Mix Up in the Mediterranean. Her duet “Alive,” performed with co-star Jeremy Jordan for the film, made it into the top 15 on iTunes last year.
Jessica Lowndes is best known for playing Adrianna, a drug-addicted teen, on The CW’s 90210. Initially planned for just three episodes, her role became a main character for five seasons due to its popularity.
Beyond acting, Lowndes is an accomplished singer and songwriter. She has self-released over 20 original songs. Her single “Silicone in Stereo” reached number 11 on the Billboard charts in both the U.S. and Canada.
Her deal with GAC Family was arranged by Aperture Entertainment and the law firm Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern. She is represented by Deb Dillstone and A3 Artists Agency.
Jessica Lowndes’ new multi-picture deal with GAC Family highlights her expanding talents as an actress, writer, director, and producer. This collaboration promises fresh, original films that showcase her diverse skills and creative vision.
