Police in Chilliwack, British Columbia, are investigating a targeted shooting that left one person injured and several homes damaged Friday night. Authorities believe the incident is connected to ongoing gang conflicts in the area.

RCMP responded to reports of gunfire outside a residence in the Crimson Ridge neighbourhood, located east of Vancouver, at around 9:45 p.m. Friday. Officers discovered shell casings and blood at the scene, confirming that one individual had suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Several neighbouring homes were struck by bullets during the shooting, though residents in those properties have not reported any injuries. Authorities are continuing to assess the extent of property damage.

Investigators also discovered a burned Mazda CX-5 nearby. Police are examining whether the vehicle is linked to the shooting, though no official connection has yet been confirmed.

The RCMP are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Authorities are particularly interested in any video footage or eyewitness accounts that could help identify those responsible. Residents with relevant information are encouraged to contact Chilliwack RCMP directly or submit tips through Crime Stoppers.

The targeted shooting underscores growing concerns about gang-related violence in the region. Local law enforcement officials have emphasized the importance of community cooperation in preventing further incidents. Police advise residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.

While the investigation is ongoing, RCMP officers have increased patrols in the area to reassure residents and enhance public safety. Law enforcement officials say they are using all available resources to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.

Crimson Ridge, known for its quiet residential streets, was shaken by the Friday night incident. Many residents expressed concern about safety in their community, highlighting the broader challenges law enforcement faces in addressing gang-related violence.

Authorities say they are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses as part of their investigation. Police hope that public tips will help lead to arrests and prevent further incidents in the community.

Residents are reminded to avoid approaching anyone suspected of involvement in the shooting and to report all relevant information through official channels. Police emphasize that community cooperation remains crucial for solving such cases quickly and safely.

The RCMP have reassured the public that investigations are ongoing and that those responsible will be held accountable. Officials continue to work closely with local and provincial partners to address gang activity and protect neighbourhoods in Chilliwack.
