The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have found the remains of Kielan Hall, a 23-year-old who had been missing since March 14, 2024. The discovery came during a police operation at a leased home on Songhees Reserve Lands near Esquimalt.

On May 14, officers executed a search warrant connected to a drug trafficking investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. During this search at a mobile home park on the reserve, human remains were uncovered. This led to the issuance of an additional warrant to further investigate the site.

Authorities have confirmed the remains belong to Kielan Hall. The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) is handling the ongoing investigation into the circumstances of Hall’s death. Officials have not released further details as the case remains active.

Hall was reported missing in March 2024. Since then, many in the community and family have hoped for answers. Hall’s father, Sheldon Hall, shared a message on the Finding Kielan Hall Facebook page expressing deep gratitude for the support they have received over the past year.

“We are so grateful for all who gave their time and effort to support our family over the past year,” Sheldon Hall wrote. “It has amazed us the amount of love and compassion we have received from so many.”

He also requested privacy for the family during this difficult time. “To those who went above and beyond to help us in our greatest time of need, we cannot thank you enough. All I can say is we love you. Kielan James Hall, finally be at peace, my son. We will all see you in the next life.”

The West Shore RCMP extended their condolences to Hall’s family and friends. Cpl. Nancy Saggar, Media Relations Officer for West Shore RCMP, emphasized the police’s commitment to supporting the family and continuing the investigation.

The Songhees Nation Chief and Council issued a statement on May 21 expressing their “deepest condolences to the Hall family.” They acknowledged the sadness of the situation and said, “This is not the outcome anyone hoped for, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”

The Chief and Council also affirmed their trust in the justice system. “We trust that all those responsible for the crimes committed will be brought to justice,” they said.

They pledged their continued support for the RCMP and law enforcement agencies working on the case. “As the Songhees Nation Chief & Council, we remain firmly committed to fostering a safe and supportive community. In moments like these, we draw strength from our teachings, from one another, and our shared commitment to safety, unity, and healing,” the statement concluded.
