Kelowna’s popular bakery, Cupcasions, has been targeted in an alleged personal attack, with red graffiti sprayed across its storefront.

The bakery shared a photo on social media showing the damage. The vandalism covered the windows and door, including a poster for an upcoming memorial event.

Cupcasions said the attack appeared personal. The bakery noted that the graffiti was sprayed directly over its poster for the event, “A Walk in Bailey’s Shoes,” and included words aimed at their family.

The event honors Bailey McCourt, a Kelowna resident who was tragically attacked and killed. Her ex-husband, James Plover, has been charged in connection with her death.

In the social media post, Cupcasions explained that the words on the graffiti were blurred in shared photos for legal reasons.

After the vandalism, the bakery’s storefront has been cleaned. Cupcasions thanked the property management for responding quickly and Trigger’s Pressure Washing Services for helping remove the graffiti.

The incident has drawn attention to the ongoing grief surrounding Bailey McCourt’s death. Local residents have expressed support for the bakery and called for respect and safety in the community.

The Kelowna RCMP has been contacted for further details, though no additional statements have been released so far. Cupcasions continues to operate and plans to move forward with its memorial event.

Community members noted the incident highlights the risks businesses face when connected to sensitive local events. The bakery’s response underscores the importance of swift cleanup and maintaining a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Cupcasions’ social media update included messages of gratitude for community support and emphasized that the memorial event would proceed as planned. Many supporters shared words of encouragement, showing solidarity with the bakery during this difficult time.

While the investigation is ongoing, local authorities have urged anyone with information about the vandalism to come forward. The bakery has also requested that the community respect the space and allow them to continue their work without interference.

This case serves as a reminder of the impact personal disputes and tragedies can have on local businesses and the community. Cupcasions’ handling of the incident reflects both resilience and a commitment to honoring Bailey McCourt’s memory.

The bakery encourages residents to participate in the upcoming memorial event, aiming to turn the focus back to remembrance and support rather than vandalism.

By addressing the attack publicly and thanking helpers promptly, Cupcasions shows how small businesses can respond to unexpected incidents with transparency and care.

The Kelowna community continues to rally around the bakery, showing that support and unity remain strong even in challenging circumstances.
