River Road in Maple Ridge will be fully closed next week for important roadwork. Drivers are urged to find alternate routes to avoid delays. The city has announced that River Road will be shut between 207 Street and 216 Street from August 11 to August 19. This closure will run daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. as part of the city’s annual capital paving program. No work will take place on weekends during this period.
This key east-west route will undergo improvements to enhance road safety and road quality. To reduce disruptions, the closure will be split into three segments. Local traffic will still be allowed but restricted within these sections. These sections include 207 Avenue to Stevens Street, Stevens Street to Laity Street, and Laity Street to 216 Street.
Motorists are asked to follow all posted signs and the instructions of flaggers at the construction site. Public transit buses that normally use this route will need to find alternate paths during the closure.
For any questions about traffic or transit, residents can contact WinVan at 604-830-7412 or 778-772-6221. Weather conditions or other unforeseen events could affect the work schedule and may cause the closure to last longer.
Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes to reduce delays and traffic congestion during this roadwork period.
