A high school teacher in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, has been formally charged with several child exploitation offences, authorities confirmed. The allegations involve serious crimes including child luring and creating and distributing child pornography.

Court documents show 30-year-old Lovesh Ramsaha, a former teacher at Pitt Meadows Secondary, faces four charges. These include internet luring of a child under 18, making sexually explicit material available to a minor, producing child pornography, and distributing child pornography.

The B.C. Prosecution Service said the alleged offences took place between August 2024 and February 2025 at or near the school.

Ridge Meadows RCMP launched an investigation in February after receiving a complaint about suspected sexual offences involving a local teacher. Police noted that because Ramsaha was in a position of authority, investigators acted swiftly. They also coordinated with the school district to take proper safety measures.

Pitt Meadows Secondary principal Colin Sharpe informed families in a letter that Ramsaha was immediately removed from his teaching duties once the allegations became known. The letter reassured parents that student safety remains the highest priority.

The B.C. teacher registry shows an “undertaking not to practice” was placed on Ramsaha’s file in March, preventing him from teaching while the legal process unfolds.

Few other details have been released due to privacy rules and ongoing criminal proceedings. Efforts to contact Ramsaha directly have so far been unsuccessful.

Ramsaha is not currently in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 21 in Port Coquitlam, B.C.

Authorities emphasize the seriousness of the case and continue to investigate. Parents and community members are encouraged to stay informed and report any additional concerns to local law enforcement.

This case highlights the ongoing need for vigilance and swift action when allegations of child exploitation arise, especially in school settings where trust and safety are paramount.
