Prince George police have arrested three youths after a robbery and assault on a woman late on August 6.

Officers responded around 11 p.m. to the 700 block of Central Street after multiple reports that a female was being attacked near a bank parking lot, according to local police.

The suspects, a group of three youths, approached the victim, assaulted her, and stole her bank card and money. They also tried to take her vehicle keys but fled when police arrived at the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not life-threatening.

Thanks to quick action from witnesses nearby, police were able to locate and arrest all three youths soon after the crime. The suspects were held in custody for a court hearing the following day, August 7, before being released under conditions.

“Thankfully, witnesses in the area heard the altercation and immediately reported the incident to police,” said Constable Jenna Moore.

“Frontline officers responded quickly, leading to the arrest of all three youth suspects.”

Authorities are asking anyone who saw the event or has CCTV or dashcam footage recorded between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on August 6 to contact police at 250-561-3300.

The police hope this case reminds the public to stay alert and report suspicious activities immediately.
