A person has died after being shot inside a taxi in Langley, B.C., on Friday night, according to police. Langley RCMP said they responded to calls of a shooting near the intersection of 200 Street and 53 Avenue just before 10:30 p.m. PT. First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but the victim did not survive. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) confirmed there was only one victim and no other injuries were reported. A serious police incident at a Langley residence has been safely resolved, authorities confirmed. The event occurred on Saturday afternoon near 208th Street and 71st Avenue. The Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT) was called in to assist with the investigation. Police said the situation was contained without injury and posed no ongoing risk to the public. Officials emphasized that the community was never in danger and thanked residents for their cooperation while the investigation was underway. A Langley-based animal rescue group is stepping up to save puppies from harsh street conditions in Mexico. Just Four Paws recently brought three young puppies from Jalisco, Mexico, to British Columbia for adoption. The puppies—named Alvin, Simon, and Theodore after the popular movie Alvin and the Chipmunks—were found alone and vulnerable in San Juan Cosalá, a small town in Mexico. Langley RCMP are asking for help from the public after a deadly crash involving a motorcyclist on Highway 1 in British Columbia. The crash happened Saturday evening, just before 8:30 p.m., between 264th and 248th Street on the westbound side of the highway. Emergency responders, including BC Emergency Health Services and Township of Langley firefighters, rushed to the scene. Sadly, the motorcyclist died at the site.
