Kamloops United Football Club (KUFC) faced defeats in both their men’s and women’s teams during their last away matches of the 2025 League1 BC season on Saturday, July 19, in Langley.

In the women’s game, Kamloops lost 2-1 to Langley United. Cara Freeman gave Kamloops an early lead just before half-time. However, Langley responded strongly in the second half with goals from Megan Sun and Paige Colby. This defeat marked Kamloops women’s 11th loss of the season.

The Kamloops women’s team will finish last in the division. They have only one win and six points from 15 games, trailing Burnaby FC by six points in eighth place. The loss also ended their streak of three consecutive 1-1 draws.

In men’s action, Kamloops was beaten 2-0 by Langley. Joel Badger scored both goals for Langley, keeping his team close to the top of the league. Langley now has 30 points, two behind the league leaders, TSS Rovers, who have 32 points with one game left.

Kamloops men sit in fifth place with 20 points from 15 games, including six wins. They cannot rise above fourth or drop below sixth in the nine-team league.

Both Kamloops teams will play their final 2025 season matches at home on Friday, July 25, against the TSS Rovers at Hillside Stadium. The women’s match starts at 5:00 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m.

A win by the TSS men will secure the League1 BC title and a spot in the 2026 Canadian Championship. Langley’s hopes of winning the title depend on Kamloops defeating TSS and Langley beating Vancouver Whitecaps in their final game on Saturday, July 26.

If Kamloops and Langley both win, Langley can be crowned champions. A draw between TSS and Kamloops combined with a Langley win will also give Langley the title. Langley previously defeated TSS 3-1 in April and 3-0 in June.
