Maple Ridge Fire and Rescue is helping residents stay cool during the summer by hosting community water events. These fun gatherings combine fire safety lessons with refreshing water activities for families.
On Wednesday, July 23, the first Hot Summer Nights event took place at Firefighters Park, located at Fire Hall No. 4, 11240 238 St., Maple Ridge. The event drew many families eager to beat the heat and enjoy the summer evening.
Children and adults had the chance to cool down with water sprays and participate in hands-on fire safety activities. Some even got to use a fire hose and explore a fire truck up close. The event offered a perfect mix of fun and learning.
The Maple Ridge Fire Department shared online, “We loved seeing families laughing, learning, and making summer memories together.” These events aim to build community spirit while educating residents on fire safety.
More Hot Summer Nights are planned to keep the summer excitement going. The next events will take place on Wednesday, July 30, from 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. at two locations: Alouette Elementary School’s rear park at 22155 Isaac Crescent, and Whonnock Lake Park, 7871 113 Ave., Maple Ridge.
Residents are encouraged to bring their families and join the fun. The water activities provide a great way to cool off while connecting with local firefighters and learning important safety tips.
