A man is in critical condition after a stabbing in Surrey, B.C., on Saturday afternoon. Police were called to the 10700 block of King George Boulevard in the Whalley neighbourhood around 2:30 p.m.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was found with stab wounds and taken to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

A suspect, a man in his early 40s, was arrested at the scene and is in police custody. Authorities said no charges have been filed yet.

Surrey Police Service’s Frontline Investigative Support Team detectives are leading the investigation. Officers remain in the area to gather evidence and speak with witnesses.

Police are asking anyone with information about the stabbing to contact the Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 and reference file number 25-84753.
